This will be a true general science course as we take a tour through the branches of science. We will be covering earth science (astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, earth study, geology, paleontology, and environmental science), biology, chemistry, and physics. Towards the end of the year, students will be asked to create a Rube Goldberg machine which will demonstrate their creativity, cause and effect while using kinetic and potential energy and simple machines. At the end of the course, students will be better prepared for high school science and appreciative of the world and our creator.

We will be diving into the world of plants to learn all about botany. Our studies will allow us to learn about the lifecycle of the plant from seed to tree, different varieties (maybe even feed our Venus fly trap). This will be a hands-on course allowing students plenty of review throughout the course and mastery too.
Towards the end of the year, we will take a little detour in order to incubate eggs and raise baby chicks into full grown chickens.

Students will learn about their community helpers, introduced to maps, brief history of our Great Country, people and cultures around the world. Will do hands on activities and interactive lap-books as they learn about important landmarks and historical figures. Will learn to map out continents and oceans, directional positions. Recognized Israel as God's promised Land, and important historical and biblical passages about how the world was created

Geared for 8-12 grade 1 credit for American Government
In this full year class, students will study America’s founding documents and history by making them come alive by reenacting excerpts from our founding documents. Students will explore the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, branches of government their roles and duties, State and Local government, and in comparison to other forms of government (Canada and Mexico). We will dive into voting with a special project as it is an election year. Students will have an opportunity to do an oral presentation. Will encourage students to participate in civic activities and participate in a teen government conference which will happen in March (more information forthcoming).
Abeka American Government in Christian Perspective
Geared approximately for ages 10-14. This class is designed to accompany the PE portion (student choses their sport). The class will be 3 months duration during the winter season. Learn the basics; why everyone needs to eat, the breakdown of the six main types of nutrients, digestion, carbs, fats, protein, metabolism, processed foods, calories, hunger, appetite. and reading nutritional labels. We are going to spice things up with studying diet and lifestyle around the world, vocabulary, making a meal and a few food experiments thrown in for good measure. You won’t want to miss this dynamic fun filled class.
