TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS

Opportunities to Magnify your Education

Magnified is an opportunity for LWG and other homeschool families to gather to receive additional support outside of our tutorial days. We offer private tutoring, educational and cognitive therapy, along with group study classes focused on giving students the opportunity to develop independent work/study skills as well as social skill opportunities while exercising their brain power.

The first half of the class will be homework help. In this, parents must send in work that their student should complete during this time. Light support is available to answer questions and keep students on task. This class is meant to encourage independent work skills.

The second half of this class will be Academic Enrichment. Academic Enrichment is designed to extend learning beyond the core curriculum by fostering curiosity, creativity, and higher-level thinking. Students engage in activities, projects, and discussions that deepen understanding and encourage exploration across subject areas. The class emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and independent learning while supporting individual interests and strengths. It provides opportunities for students to apply knowledge in meaningful ways and develop skills that support long-term academic growth.

The second half of the block will use interdisciplinary unit studies to deepen learning and encourage meaningful connections across subject areas. Each unit is centered around a central theme or essential question and integrates skills from reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and critical thinking. Students engage in hands-on activities, projects, discussions, and research that promote curiosity, collaboration, and real-world application.

The second half is Speech Class where students will be preparing, writing, and presenting their speeches to the group. Parental support will be needed somewhat at home to assist students with assignments. If the work is completed in this class, it can count as a full credit in English for high school students.

So many of our students do best with 1:1 instruction that we wanted to provide an opportunity for that support.

  • Lessons will be planned out to align with your student’s class demands OR lessons will be created that would replace classroom instruction.
  • Subject matter taught in tutoring is your choice based on your student’s needs.
  • A tutoring session would be 40 minutes of instruction, 10 minutes of subject related games, and 5 minutes to check-in with the family about progress and next steps.
  • Based on your wants, assignments can be provided for days that your student is not at school so they can keep moving forward. This would be if your student is not in a class as the goal is not to overload them with work.

There are a few options if you are interested in tutoring:

  • Option 1: Tutoring in one subject 1x a week at LWG, cost is $1,000 for the school year (30 weeks)
  • Option 2: Tutoring in one subject 2x a week at LWG, cost is $2,000 for the school year (30 weeks)
  • Option 3: Tutoring in more than 1 subject, please reach out to see if there is availability for that option as it requires more planning and preparation prior to sessions.
