Hebrews12:1-2 12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Christian walk in life parallels that of a runner’s experience of ups and downs while needing to keep our eyes on the prize: our saving God and his mercy and love. It is with this heart that I approach teaching our PE Running class. Students will learn the importance of and methods of dynamic and static stretching, proper form and posture, keeping time and pace, all building up to compete in a local 5km race. Appropriate gear (how it should fit and how much you should wear) and nutrition will also be covered. This class is fun and will form life long habits and activities fostering healthy life choices and a deeper meaning of healthy mind, body and spirit.
