This class includes reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. This class will read multiple novels and use them for discussion and comprehension practice. IEW will be used for teaching structured writing in varying types of essays, such as: writing from narratives, summarizing references, writing from pictures, and creative writing. The essays will be surrounded around Heroes from the Bible, so it will give the opportunity for a deeper dive into some of the Bible stories they are already familiar with.

This class includes reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. It will overlap with History for these grades as well, so that the topics they are writing and reading about intertwine with what they are learning in History class. This class will read novels and use them for discussion and comprehension practice. A focus will be placed on structured writing so that students will be able to effectively construct essays based on IEW’s Ancient Civilizations in areas such as: writing from notes, narrative stories, summarizing a reference, writing from pictures, and writing from multiple references. Ideally we would like students to take this English, along with History (grades 7-12) since there will be overlapping homework.

This History class focuses on the period of time between the earliest accounts of civilizations through the Fall of Rome. The structure of this class is based on stories of people connecting historical events from Europe to the Middle East, to China. Dozens of maps provide a clear picture of where these events took place and they connect together. Literature, epic traditions, private letters, and accounts connect kings and leaders who ruled during various times. This course uses The History of the Ancient World, by Susan Bauer. This class, and English (grades 7-12), work cooperatively together so that students are immersed within one topic and have the opportunity to dive deeper in their understanding. Ideally we would like students to take this History, along with English (grades 7-12) since there will be overlapping homework.

Age: We will have two separate PE classes, one for our younger elementary students and one for our MS/HS students.
We will be studying proper singing techniques and exercises in order to give glory to our creator. Students will learn teamwork as we work together to harmonize and perform choreography. Christian songs in various styles will be utilized to lift up the name of Jesus. The choir will participate at LWG for our Christmas program and end of the year activities. We may also lead worship during chapel at times. We will be using soundtracks that will be made available to all ,so students can practice at home. This can be used as a Music and/or PE credit.
